The Grumbler Provisions bottle requires the user to activate the heating mechanism by twisting the bottles’ base. An internal chamber is pierced and an exothermic reaction takes place between food safe ingredients inside a removable module. Within a few minutes the milk drink is at a palatable temperature of 39 degrees celsius. Warmed bottles of milk are more readily taken by babies due to the comforting "human milk" connection. The process of warming milk is also important to ensure infants are not using calories unnecessarily post cold milk consumption. This can be especially important for preterm and previously growth restricted babies, and in cases of neonatal and paediatric disease related malnutrition.

Safety features include temperature gauge, removable heat source (at users discretion), tamper proof heat activation, ergonomic bottle shape and all appropriate components are sterile and food safe. At this point in the engineering stage three different bottle volume sizes are being designed: 90ml, 120ml and 180ml. Each bottle size would be aimed at a specific infant age range and would have an age appropriate teat shape, flow rate and nutritional content that is best suited.

There should be special mention that at every stage of the product development has the environmental impact of a single use product been taken into consideration, and every possible attempt to utilise recyclable and biodegradable components will be made.
